Her dad is a moron poser that cares more about style over substance, she needs to get away from him and with someone who knows racing, not publicly. Shes not as annoying as Brian or Haiden(off the bike) but you gotta work hard. Thats one thing I can't be negative about Haiden because he clearly works realy hard as his fitness might be the best in the class.

They just need to go back to Chicagoland and trash the street racing experiment. The main issue is money and politics anytime you want to race in the city. It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to close to city streets down to go racing for 1 weekend and reopen them. Plus most city politicians are Democrats who oppose racing because of the noise and air pollution which makes it even harder to put on a street race event.

This is definitely a sign that her own team regrets giving her a full time schedule

money can get you rides, look at the current biggest bust in the cup series, Austin Dillion. And before you tell me about his rain shortened wins, or his Daytona 500 win (with 8-10 cars finishing), it has and always will be about who you know, and how much money you bring. Not Talent.

At the end of the day, her performance doesn't really matter. If she keeps bringing sponsorship dollars, she will always have a ride. The day she runs out of money is when she has to worry.

I started watching nascar around 1988 when I was a little kid. I have to say growing up on nascar in 90’s and seeing how good the racing and cars were… the COT era was the beginning of the end of nascar. The COT cars were all built the same. Part of what made nascar great was every team and every manufacturer was different on how they set up their cars. Now it’s just the same cars circling around the track nothing more.

The Chicago race got a large international audience watching NASCAR, and Shane’s win only increased the overseas interest in nascent for this year. I think if they keep it around the interest will build coz one of the best things about NASCAR is the variety of tracks they race on. No other series does as many different tracks as NASCAR does and I think they should be commended for it. 😊

Ok. This does a couple things. Gives the team a shot of their best finish of the year. She can have a free weekend to make another youtube video of a beach day or boating etc. Also she doesn't have to cover the race with a " not what we were looking for this weekend" on the first part of the video. The whole video can be dedicated to "play time"

I think stage breaks coming back to road courses will have an impact too, last year’s race was nonstop without stage breaks so that might have an impact too

love it. nascar needs more street races, road courses, and less superspeed ways.

As a Chicago area resident, I liked the race overall, partially because I didn't need to deal with the traffic. One thing irked me though, they kept saying stuff in the broadcast like it was the first time out here. There's a track that NASCAR owns out here that they just haven't used. The other thing was, I don't think this really gets casual fans to the track. To actually watch the race, a ticket was $100 for GA, and you might not get to see the race. To get a seat, it's at least $400. It was expensive last year and this year. I did not go last year and don't plan to this year. I'll go to Indy for cheaper. I'm glad they tried it, but the beauty of a street race is that you can put it anywhere, including somewhere there's not an actual track. Move it somewhere else for a street race, and get back to Chicagoland Speedway after 2025. I'm also biased because I want that whole complex to be used which includes Route 66 Raceway

This is a perfect example why I can’t stand politicians. They only think about their damn parties than the people!.. Why can’t we people decide on what we want for our sport? Why do we need these politicians to chose what they want? People want the Chicagoland Speedway back. As I know. Nobody asked for racing on the streets of Chicago. Give the fans what they want. Don’t do something because you think it will grow a fan base. You’re losing your fan base when you are doing the opposite on what you are doing!..

I definitely agree that this year's Chicago street race is more important than last year's simply because of the fact that it will show if the event is sustainable long term. I think the outreach that NASCAR has done with the local community has helped change people's views on the event & is the complete opposite of how F1 has approached their street race in Vegas where there has been zero outreach with locals. Instead most people in Vegas absolutely hate F1 with a passion mainly because F1 has created an absolute traffic nightmare with all of the construction that is being done for the race & has negatively affected people's ability (especially those who work on the Strip) to get to work on time and make a living. This is in addition to the astronomical ticket prices which will prevent many locals from attending. Because of all this, it is very possible that the Chicago street race for NASCAR will outlast the Vegas F1 race as I see F1 cutting their losses after this year & giving the Vegas date to one of two destinations in Southeast Asia, Thailand (at the same track MotoGP races on) or a return to the Sepang circuit in Malaysia next year.

Best case scenario long term, July 4th weekend becomes NASCAR's annual street course race where they go to the biggest cities in the country to race. I'd say a street race should either get 2-4 years on the schedule before going to another city, or at some point if we're lucky we can get a consistent rotation of cities where lets say we'd go to Chicago once every 4 years with 3 other cities filling the gap. I just hope NASCAR doesn't get too crazy with it by adding a bunch of street courses to the schedule. I'd be fine with 2 but 1 is perfectly fine.

I got my mom to watch this race last year she didn't believe they were actually racing on the streets.

In 1993 Loudon and the lakes region was a buzz, a few years after locals dreaded race week traffic. Now they barely care because it doesn't bring 100000 people. Chicago for me was I've never seen a stock car run a street course so I was all for it, first time it becomes a shit showing think they bail. Chicago is a big risk crime wise, and ultimately I think that's what will inevitably kill it

nascar needs more restrictor plate packages, road/street circuits, and short tracks. ditch the cookie cutter 1.5mile snoozefests.

I think nascar should do something even crazyier like a road rally through smalltowns, back roads and highway. Set cars 2 minutes apart. Have stages/pitstops at small towns. Somewhere scenic in appalachia. It doesnt have to be a points race. Just a dash for cash pre-season.

Well looks like it's gonna rain again on Sunday only and right at 4pm Eastern. Time to abandon this Street race for good.

Because now it will be seen at its full distance and for the event that it can truly be.
